# StudyAloud Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 13, 2026
Last updated: June 13, 2026

StudyAloud ("this app") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws. This app has no sign-up or login, and the notes you create are stored only on your device.

## 1. Information This App Collects or Transmits

### 1-1. Directly Identifiable Information
This app does not collect or store directly identifiable personal information such as your name, email, or phone number.

### 1-2. Local On-Device Storage
The study notes, folders, and app settings (voice, speed, theme, etc.) you create are stored only in your device's local storage (Hive, SharedPreferences) and are never sent to any external server.

### 1-3. Third Parties (Advertising)
To offer the app for free, we display Google AdMob ads. For personalized advertising, AdMob may collect your advertising identifier (Advertising ID), IP address, device information, and app interaction data. See the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) for details.

## 2. Permissions

This app does not request sensitive permissions such as camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage. It only uses internet access (to show ads) and background audio playback (to keep reading notes aloud).

- Text-to-Speech: Uses your device's built-in speech synthesis; text is not sent externally. (If your device TTS engine uses online voices, that engine's policy applies.)
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS): We may request tracking consent for personalized ads. Declining does not limit app use.

## 3. Retention and Use Period

Local on-device data is deleted when you delete the app. Information collected by the third party (AdMob) is retained according to that service's policy.

## 4. Provision to Third Parties

Other than Google AdMob as described in 1-3 above, this app does not provide user information to any third party.

## 5. Your Rights

- Delete notes/folders: directly within the app.
- Delete all data: deleting the app removes all local data.
- Reset advertising identifier: in your device Settings > Privacy > Ads, you can reset the Ad ID or opt out of personalized ads.

## 6. Children's Privacy

This app is not primarily directed at children under the age of 14 (and under the age of 13 for COPPA alignment) and does not knowingly collect their personal information. AdMob ads are configured for a general audience.

## 7. Privacy Officer

- Officer: SiU Ahn
- Email: siwooeo@gmail.com

## 8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised due to legal or service changes; we will announce any changes through the app or this page.
