CoachNote Privacy Policy
CoachNote Privacy Policy
- Effective date: July 8, 2026
- Last updated: July 23, 2026
CoachNote ("the App") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea. This policy explains what information the App collects and uses, and what rights you have.
1. Information We Collect
1-1. Account Information (on sign-up)
The App is account-based to sync data between coaches and students. Depending on how you sign up, we collect and store:
- Apple/Google sign-in: social account identifier, email address, name (nickname)
- Email sign-up: email address, password (stored as a one-way hash), nickname
- Common: selected role (coach/student), profile photo (if set)
Passwords are stored only as irreversible hashes; the original password is never stored anywhere.
1-2. Service Data (stored on our server)
To share and sync between coaches and students, the following data is stored on our server:
- Student profiles: name, category, start date, memo, and phone number (if entered) as entered by the coach
- Lesson records: date/time, venue, topic
- Feedback chat: message text, attached photos/videos, message read timestamps
- Measurement records: coach-defined metrics (e.g., weight) and their values
- Invite codes: one-time codes used to link a coach and a student
1-3. Push Notification Token
To deliver new-message notifications, the device's push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) is registered on our server. The token does not directly identify a person and is used only for notification delivery.
1-4. Local Storage on Your Device
A cached copy of server data and app settings (theme, language, notifications) are also stored on your device. Deleting the App removes this local copy.
1-5. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob (advertising)
The App displays Google AdMob banner ads. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID
- IP address and device information (model, OS version, etc.)
- Ad interaction data
See the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) for details.
Google Play / Apple App Store Billing (subscriptions)
Pro subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The App never accesses your payment card or other financial information.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to deliver new-message push notifications.
Social Sign-In Providers
When you sign in with Apple or Google, authentication is handled by the provider; the App receives only the resulting account identifier, email, and name.
2. Where Data Is Stored
Server data is stored on cloud servers (Vultr, Seoul region).
3. Permissions
Permissions the App requests and why:
- Camera (CAMERA): attach photos/videos to feedback chats (used only while shooting)
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): audio while recording videos
- Photos/Videos access (READ_MEDIA_*): attach media from the device gallery
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): show new-message push notifications
Each permission is requested only when the related feature is used; denying it does not affect other features.
4. Retention Period
- Account information and service data: deleted without delay upon account deletion
- Local data on your device: deleted when you uninstall the App or reset its data
- Data collected by third-party services (AdMob, Google Play, Apple, Firebase): governed by each service's privacy policy
5. Sharing with Third Parties
The App does not provide personal information to any third party other than the services listed in 1-5. Note that when a coach and a student are linked via an invite code, the related lessons, feedback, and records are shown to the linked counterpart — this is the core function of the service.
6. Your Rights
- Account deletion: use Settings → Delete account in the App, or email us below; all personal information stored on the server will be deleted.
- Access and correction: view and edit your data directly in the App, or request via email.
- Permission withdrawal: you can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Ad personalization: you can reset your Advertising ID or limit personalized ads in device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect children's personal information. AdMob ads are served to general audiences.
8. Privacy Officer
