FitVault Privacy Policy

# FitVault Privacy Policy

**Effective date: July 4, 2026 · Last updated: July 4, 2026**

FitVault ("this app") values your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.

## 1. Information the App Collects or Transmits

### 1-1. Directly identifiable information

This app has no sign-up and collects no directly identifiable personal information such as name, email address, or phone number. It operates no server of its own.

### 1-2. Data stored locally on your device

The following data is stored only on your device (using the Hive local database) and is never transmitted externally:

- Brand names and clothing details you enter (size, fit verdict, length, material, durability notes, etc.)
- Clothing photos and size-chart photos you attach (stored in the app's private folder on the device)
- Outfit log entries
- App settings (theme, language)

Text recognition (OCR) of size-chart photos is performed **entirely on-device** by the Google ML Kit engine. Neither the images nor the recognition results are sent to any external server.

### 1-3. Information collected by third-party services

**Google AdMob (advertising)**

This app displays ads served by Google AdMob. In the course of serving ads, AdMob may automatically collect:

- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA)
- IP address and device information (model, OS version)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

On iOS, the IDFA is used for advertising only if you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent. See the [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) for details.

## 2. Permissions

| Permission | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Photographing clothes or size charts | Optional |
| Photo library access | Selecting clothing or size-chart photos | Optional |
| Internet | Serving ads | Required |

Declining the optional permissions still leaves the app's core features available via manual entry without photos. No other sensitive permissions (microphone, contacts, location, etc.) are requested.

## 3. Retention Period

- Locally stored data: retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Data collected by third parties (e.g., AdMob): governed by their respective privacy policies.

## 4. Third-Party Disclosure

Apart from Google AdMob as described in section 1-3, this app provides no personal information to any third party. Your wardrobe and outfit data are visible to no one but you.

## 5. Your Rights

- **Delete data**: use the in-app delete function or uninstall the app to remove all local data immediately.
- **Export data**: the backup export feature creates a copy of your data.
- **Opt out of personalized ads**: On Android, reset/delete your advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads. On iOS, disable tracking under Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

## 6. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 14 (nor under 13, for COPPA alignment) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. AdMob ads are configured for general audiences.

## 7. Privacy Officer

- Name: SiU Ahn
- Email: siwooeo@gmail.com

Privacy inquiries sent to the address above will be answered within 7 business days.

## 8. Changes to This Policy

Any changes to this policy will be announced on this page; significant changes will also be noted in app update notes.
