This policy describes how the GiftLedger app ("this app") collects, uses, and stores information. By installing and using this app, you are deemed to have agreed to this policy.

## 1. Information this app collects or transmits
This app **does not collect any directly identifiable personal information — such as your name, email address, phone number, or postal address — to any server.** There is no sign-up or login.
However, the following information may be processed **locally (on your device only)** or **by a third party (Google AdMob) for advertising**.
### 1.1 Local storage on your device (never transmitted)
The following is stored only on your device via `SharedPreferences`:
- Contact entries you enter yourself (name, relation category)
- Gift-money records (date, amount, received/given, occasion type, place, honoree, notes)
- App settings (currency, reciprocity threshold, theme, language)
This information is **never sent to any external server** and is deleted together with the app when you uninstall it.
Names of other people that you enter are stored solely for your own record-keeping, on your device only, and are not accessible to the developer or any third party.
### 1.2 CSV export / import
The in-app "Settings → Export (CSV)" feature creates a CSV file of your records and hands it only to **the share target or storage location you choose yourself**. This runs entirely on your action; no data is ever sent to the developer.
### 1.3 Third-party processing for ads (Google AdMob)
To keep this app free, banner ads are served through the **Google AdMob** SDK. AdMob may automatically collect and process the following to serve ads and prevent click fraud:
- **Advertising ID** (resettable on your device)
- IP address (for approximate location)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size, etc.)
- Ad impression and click records
The developer of this app does not collect or store this information directly; **Google processes it under its own privacy policy**.

This app **does not request any sensitive permissions such as camera, microphone, contacts, or location.** CSV export/import works through the system share sheet and file picker, so no storage permission is required.

This app collects no personal information on any server. The local data described in section 1.1 remains only on your device **until you delete the records or uninstall the app**.
Retention of data processed by AdMob follows Google's policies.

- **Uninstall**: removing the app deletes all local data described in section 1.1
- **Data portability**: export your records to a file anytime via "Settings → Export (CSV)"
- **Opt out of personalized ads**: reset your advertising ID or opt out as described in section 2
