GiftLedger Privacy Policy
# Privacy Policy
**Service**: GiftLedger (경조사 기록)
**Effective date**: July 14, 2026
**Last updated**: July 14, 2026
This policy describes how the GiftLedger app ("the App") collects, uses, and stores personal information. By installing and using the App, you agree to this policy.
---
## 1. Information the App collects and processes
The App's core features work **without signing in**, in which case all records are stored only on your device. Only if you optionally sign in (for backup) is the information in Section 1.2 stored on the developer's server.
### 1.1 On-device local storage (no external transmission)
The following is stored on your device via `SharedPreferences`:
- People you register (name, relationship category)
- Event records (date, amount, received/given, event type, place, protagonist, note)
- App settings (currency, theme, language, app-lock on/off)
If you do not sign in, this information is **never transmitted to any server** and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
Names of other people you enter are stored solely for your own record-keeping purposes and cannot be accessed by other users.
### 1.2 Optional sign-in and server backup
**Only if you choose to sign in** (to preserve data across devices) is the following stored on the developer's server (`giftledger.reactiveworks.dev`):
- **Account identifiers**: depending on the sign-in method, the unique account identifier, email address, and display name (if provided) supplied by Google/Apple. For email sign-in, the email and name you enter, plus a securely hashed password.
- **Backup of your records**: your people and event records from Section 1.1, synced to the server.
Sign-in methods:
- **Google Sign-In**: Google account authentication, per Google's privacy policy. https://policies.google.com/privacy
- **Sign in with Apple**: Apple account authentication. You may choose Hide My Email (private relay). https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- **Email sign-in**: the email and password you enter. Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be reversed.
Server-stored data is used **only to sync your own devices** and is never used for advertising/marketing or sold to third parties.
### 1.3 Biometric authentication (app lock)
If you enable Settings → App lock, the App requires device biometrics (fingerprint/face) or the device passcode (PIN/pattern) on launch. This authentication is **handled by the operating system**; the App does not access or store biometric data itself and only receives a success/failure result.
### 1.4 CSV export / import
Settings → Export (CSV) creates a CSV file of your records and delivers it **only to the share target or storage location you choose**. This runs entirely under your control; no data is sent to the developer's server.
### 1.5 Third-party advertising (Google AdMob)
The App shows banner ads via the **Google AdMob** SDK to remain free. AdMob may automatically collect and process the following for personalized ads and fraud prevention:
- **Advertising ID** (resettable on your device)
- IP address (approximate location)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size, etc.)
- Ad impression/click logs
This information is not collected or retained by the developer; **Google processes it under its own privacy policy.**
- Google Ads policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- AdMob data disclosure: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
Reset advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads:
- **Android**: Settings → Google → Ads → "Reset advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
- **iOS**: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → deny app tracking requests
---
## 2. Permissions used
### Internet (`android.permission.INTERNET`)
- Loading ads
- Sign-in and server backup sync
- Checking for Play Store / App Store updates
### Biometric authentication (optional)
- Used only when app lock is enabled. Biometric data is handled by the OS; the App has no access.
The App **does not request sensitive permissions such as camera, microphone, contacts, or location.** CSV export/import works through the system share sheet and file picker, so no separate storage permission is needed.
---
## 3. Retention
- **Local data** (1.1): kept on your device until you delete records or uninstall the App.
- **Server backup** (1.2): kept while you remain signed in, and deleted without delay when you **log out, delete your account, or delete all data** in the App.
- **AdMob-processed data**: per Google's policy.
---
## 4. Sharing with third parties
The App **does not sell your personal information or provide it for marketing.** Information may be processed in these cases only:
- Account authentication requests to Google / Apple during sign-in (1.2)
- Ad-related processing by Google during AdMob ad display (1.5)
These are standard operations of each service and are governed by each provider's privacy policy.
---
## 5. Your rights
- **Delete records**: delete individual people/event records anytime in the App
- **Delete all data**: Settings → Delete all data wipes all records on the device and (if signed in) on the server
- **Log out / delete account**: Settings → Log out or Delete account removes server-stored information
- **Uninstall**: removing the App deletes all local data in Section 1.1
- **Data portability**: Settings → Export (CSV) exports your records to a file anytime
- **Opt out of personalized ads**: reset the advertising ID or opt out in system settings (see Section 2)
---
## 6. Children's privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. AdMob ads target a general audience and the App is not designed for children. Parental consent and supervision are recommended for users under 14.
