PitchVox Privacy Policy
# PitchVox Privacy Policy
- Service: PitchVox (Vocal Pitch Monitor)
- Effective date: July 12, 2026
- Last updated: July 12, 2026
This policy explains how PitchVox ("the app") handles your information. The app has no sign-up, and all core features (real-time pitch analysis and practice history) run entirely on your device.
## 1. Information the app collects or transmits
### 1-1. Directly identifying information
The app does not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email, phone number, or account. There is no sign-up or login.
### 1-2. Microphone input (real-time pitch analysis only)
The app uses microphone input to analyze the pitch of your voice in real time and draw it as a graph.
- The microphone sound is used only to compute pitch (frequency) **on your device in real time**.
- **The audio itself is never stored, recorded, or transmitted.** Sound data is discarded immediately after analysis.
- When you save a practice session, only the **pitch trajectory values (note and cents data)** are stored on the device — never the audio.
### 1-3. Local on-device storage
The following data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
- Practice session records (average pitch, stability, highest/lowest notes, pitch trajectory values) — stored in the `Hive` local database.
- App settings (note naming, mic sensitivity, A4 reference, theme, language, etc.) — stored in `shared_preferences`.
Only you can access this data, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
### 1-4. Third-party service — Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep the app free, it uses Google AdMob ads. AdMob may collect and process the following to serve ads:
- Advertising ID, device information, IP address, approximate location, and app interaction data.
This information is processed under Google's privacy policy, and the app's developer does not access the raw data. On iOS, personalized advertising depends on your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) choice; if you decline, non-personalized ads are still shown.

## 2. Permissions requested
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) | Real-time pitch analysis (no audio stored or transmitted) |
| Internet | Loading ads, checking for app updates |
The app does not request other sensitive permissions such as camera, contacts, location, or media/photo storage. You may revoke the microphone permission at any time in your device settings (real-time analysis will then be unavailable).
## 3. Retention period
- Local on-device data (practice records and settings): kept until you delete it yourself or uninstall the app.
- Data processed by the third party (AdMob): follows that service's retention policy.
## 4. Sharing with third parties
Other than Section 1-4 (Google AdMob) above, the app does not sell or share your information with third parties.
## 5. Your rights
- Delete practice records: remove individual sessions from the History screen in the app.
- Delete all data: uninstalling the app removes all local data on the device.
- Reset/delete advertising ID: reset or delete your advertising ID in Device Settings → Google → Ads.
- Change iOS tracking choice: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
## 6. Children's privacy
The app is not primarily directed at children under the age of 14 (and under the age of 13 for COPPA), and it does not knowingly collect children's personal information. Ads are served to a general audience.
## 7. Privacy contact
