Brain Training Note Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Service: Brain Training Note (두뇌 훈련 노트)
Effective date: August 5, 2026
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Brain Training Note ("this app") treats your data with care and complies with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This app has no sign-up, no login, and no server of its own — your training records stay on your device.
1. What this app collects and transmits
1-1. Directly identifying information
This app collects no directly identifying information — no name, email, phone number, date of birth, or address. There is no account creation and no login.
1-2. Stored on your device only
The following is written to local storage (shared_preferences) on your device and is never sent to the developer or to any third party.
- Training sessions (start and end time, session type, round composition)
- Training results (module, correct answers, trials, accuracy, average reaction time, duration, difficulty level)
- Metacognition records (strategy tags you selected, transfer-question answers)
- Training schedule (next session date, streak, total sessions)
- App preferences (theme, language)
1-3. Files you export yourself
This app provides data export and import.
- Export writes the records in 1-2 into a JSON file inside the app's own folder on your device and opens the operating system's share sheet.
- Where that file goes (mail, cloud drive, messenger, …) is entirely your choice. The developer cannot see the file or where it is sent.
- Import reads only the file you pick yourself. The app does not browse or collect any other file on your device.
1-4. Third party — advertising (Google AdMob)
This app is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve those ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA)
- IP address and approximate location (country / city level)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen metrics, language)
- Ad impression and click history
This data is collected by Google and handled under their policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google advertising partners: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903
On iOS the app shows an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline, you will only receive ads that do not use a tracking identifier. Every feature of the app works the same either way.
1-5. Third party — update checks
The Google Play in-app update feature checks whether a newer version exists. The app's package name and version are sent to Google Play in the process; no personally identifying information is included.
2. Permissions requested
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet (INTERNET) | Serving ads, checking for app updates |
This app requests no sensitive permissions — no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo library, or notifications. Export and import use the operating system's own share sheet and file picker, so no storage permission is needed.
3. Retention
- Records on your device: kept until you run "Reset data" inside the app or uninstall the app. The developer has no access to them.
- Files you exported: managed by you. Delete them when you no longer need them.
- Advertising data: retained under Google's policies.
4. Disclosure to third parties
Your training records are never transmitted to any third party, including the developer. The only data that leaves your device is described in 1-4 (advertising) and 1-5 (update checks).
5. Your rights and how to exercise them
- Delete everything: Settings → Data → Reset data. This cannot be undone.
- Make a backup: Settings → Data → Export data.
- Move to another device: import the exported file via Settings → Data → Import data.
- Uninstall: removing the app also removes the stored records.
- Reset your advertising identifier
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset / delete advertising ID
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
6. Children's privacy
This app is not directed to children under the age of 14 (under 13 for COPPA purposes) and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Ads are configured for a general audience. If you believe a child's information has been collected, contact us at the address below and we will act on it promptly.
7. Contact
- Name: SiU Ahn (안시우)
- Email: siwooeo@gmail.com
We reply within 7 business days of receiving an enquiry.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes because of amended law or new app features, the change is reflected in this document and the effective date is updated. Significant changes are announced in the app's update notes.
