Keyclack Privacy Policy

Keyclack Privacy Policy

  • Service: Keyclack (키클랙)
  • Effective date: August 2, 2026
  • Last updated: August 2, 2026

Keyclack is a toy app for enjoying the sound, haptics, and travel of a keycap press. There is no sign-up, no server, and nothing you create in the app is sent anywhere. This document explains, item by item, what is actually collected and stored.

1. Information this app collects or transmits

1.1 Directly identifying information — not collected

This app does not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, postal address, or any account information. There is no login and no user account at all.

1.2 Information stored only on your device

The following is stored on your device only. It is never transmitted anywhere, including to the developer, and it is removed when you uninstall the app.

StorageWhat is stored
shared_preferences (device settings store)Sound volume, haptic strength, key-up sound on/off, default key sound, keycap theme, keyboard layout, theme (light/dark/system), language, whether onboarding was completed
Hive (on-device local database)Total key presses, which key sounds / keycap themes / layouts you have unlocked, badges earned, last-played date and streak length, which hours of the day you played, daily trial state

1.3 Processing by third-party services

Google AdMob (advertising)

To keep the app free, Keyclack shows Google AdMob ads (banner, interstitial, and rewarded video). AdMob may collect and process the following in order to serve and measure ads:

  • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA)
  • IP address and approximate location (country / region level)
  • Device information (model, OS version, language settings, and similar)
  • Ad interactions such as impressions and clicks

Google collects this directly. The developer does not have access to it in any form that identifies an individual user.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — iOS

On iOS, the system asks on first launch whether the app may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites.

  • Declining does not limit any feature of the app.
  • If you decline, you will see non-personalized ads that do not use the

advertising identifier. Ads still appear; they are simply chosen at random.

  • You can change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security →

Tracking.

User Messaging Platform (UMP) — EEA and similar regions

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform presents a consent form about ad personalization. Your choice there is stored and managed by Google.

Store review prompt (in_app_review)

Tapping "Rate this app" in Settings opens the Google Play or App Store listing. The app neither collects nor transmits any information during this.

Update check (in_app_update)

The app queries Google Play or Apple's app lookup to check whether a newer version exists. This is a version-number check only; no personal information is transmitted.

Sharing (share_plus)

Tapping "Share" in Settings opens your device's standard share sheet. You alone choose the destination app, and Keyclack does not record the destination or the shared content.

2. Permissions

These are all the permissions the app requests:

PermissionPurposeNature
Vibrate (VIBRATE)Haptic feedback when a key is pressedNormal permission — no consent dialog is shown

The app requests no sensitive permissions whatsoever — no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no storage, no photo library. In particular, there is no feature that records key sounds, so the microphone is never used.

3. Retention period

  • Information stored on your device (1.2): kept until you uninstall the app or

reset the data from within the app, at which point it is deleted immediately.

  • Information processed by third parties (1.3): governed by that service's own

privacy policy and retention rules.

4. Disclosure to third parties

Keyclack does not sell your personal information or provide it to third parties. Beyond the advertising service described in 1.3 (Google AdMob), no external disclosure of any kind takes place.

5. Your rights and how to exercise them

  • Delete app data: uninstalling the app removes everything listed in 1.2.
  • Reset the advertising identifier / turn off personalized ads
  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset or delete advertising ID
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → revoke permission for this app
  • Change ad consent (EEA and similar): relaunch the app to review the

consent form again.

6. Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 14 (the threshold under Korean law), and, for COPPA alignment, it is likewise not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads shown in the app are configured for a general audience. If we learn that information from a child has been collected, we delete it immediately.

7. Privacy contact

For questions, complaints, or remedies regarding the handling of personal information, please contact us below. We respond within 7 business days.

  • Developer: SiU Ahn (안시우)
  • Email: siwooeo@gmail.com

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as laws or the service change. When it is, the "Last updated" date above is updated, and material changes are announced through the app's update notes.
