Breakup Remedies Terms of Service
Breakup Remedies Terms of Service
- Service: Breakup Remedies (Korean name: 이별 처방전)
- Operator: SiU Ahn (안시우)
- Effective date: October 18, 2026
- Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Breakup Remedies app (the "Service") provided by SiU Ahn (the "Operator"). By signing up for or using the Service, you agree to these terms, the community rules and the Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
The Service is a community where people who have been through a breakup share how they got through it. It lets you:
- Write remedies: share a way you got through a breakup, with a title, a first step, up to 7 steps, situation tags, a category, a suggested duration and a tip
- Save and try other people's remedies, rate them helpful or not with an optional one-line review (up to 100 characters), and comment on them
- Browse a board that ranks remedies by how helpful people found them
- Use private recovery tools: a no-contact day counter, a contact log, a daily mood check-in, an "I want to reach out" screen, and a help sheet with crisis hotline numbers
The Service is free and shows ads (Google AdMob). You can use the recovery tools without signing in, but writing remedies, commenting and rating require an account.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old. When you sign up, you must confirm that you are 16 or older and agree to these terms and the community rules.
- You can sign up only with Google or Apple.
- A nickname is generated for you when you sign up. You can change it once every 30 days (2–20 characters). Do not use your real name or contact details as your nickname.
- You are responsible for keeping your device and the Google or Apple account you sign in with secure. You may not transfer, lend or sell your account.
3. Your content
- You keep ownership of the remedies, comments and one-line reviews you post ("your content").
- You grant the Operator a free, non-exclusive license to store your content and display it to other users within the Service.
- The license ends when you delete the content or your account. When you delete your account, your content is deleted with it.
- You confirm that you have the rights needed to post your content.
4. Community rules
You must not:
- Encourage self-harm or suicide, or describe how to do it
- Help anyone find, contact or monitor an ex
- Expose the real name, contact details, workplace, school or other identifying information of yourself, your ex or anyone else
- Post abuse, hate or discriminatory speech, sexual content, or harass others
- Post ads, or promote paid counselling or other paid services
- Give dangerous advice or make false promises such as "guaranteed reunion"
- Disrupt the Service, for example with automated bulk requests or by exploiting vulnerabilities
- Break any applicable law
5. Screening, reports, sanctions and appeals
- Remedies and comments are checked on your device and on the server for contact details, patterns that look like real names, banned words, dangerous advice and crisis expressions. If a crisis expression is detected, a help sheet with crisis hotline numbers is shown.
- You can report content, block other users and hide content in the app.
- Content reported for self-harm or danger, personal information or harassment is hidden immediately while it is reviewed. The Operator reviews reports within 24 hours and removes content that breaks the rules.
- Users who break the rules are sanctioned in steps: warning → 7-day write ban → permanent ban.
- To stop people from deleting their account and signing up again to evade a sanction, sanction records are kept for 1 year after account deletion (see section 5 of the Privacy Policy).
- If you disagree with a sanction or a decision about your content, you can appeal in the app or email siwooeo@gmail.com. The Operator will review it again.
6. Not a medical or counselling service
- The Service and its remedies are people sharing their own experiences. It is not a medical, counselling, therapy or crisis service, and remedies do not replace professional diagnosis or advice.
- If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services right away. In Korea, call 112 (police) or 119 (emergency), the suicide prevention line 109, or the mental health crisis line 1577-0199.
7. Ads
The Service shows ads provided by Google AdMob. The Operator is not responsible for ad content or for transactions with advertisers.
8. Account deletion and restrictions
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Your account, the remedies, comments and ratings you created, and your recovery records are deleted immediately and cannot be restored (see section 6 of the Privacy Policy).
- If you break these terms or the law, the Operator may remove your content or restrict your use of the Service as described in section 5.
- If the Operator shuts down the Service, it will announce this in the app 30 days in advance.
9. Changes and interruptions
The Operator may change, add or remove features to improve the Service. The Service may be interrupted temporarily for maintenance, outages or events beyond the Operator's control.
10. Disclaimer
- The Service is provided "as is". The Operator does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Remedies, comments and one-line reviews are written by users. The Operator does not guarantee their accuracy or effectiveness. You decide for yourself whether to follow a remedy, and the Operator is not responsible for the results.
- The Operator is not responsible for disputes between users.
- Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, and to the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect damages or data loss arising from use of the Service.
11. Changes to these terms
We will announce changes in the app or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes that are unfavorable to users). If you do not agree to the new terms, you may delete your account; continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept them.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes relating to the Service will be resolved by the Seoul Central District Court.
